Once you have paid off your mortgage in full, you will usually require to discharge the security held by your bank or lender. This process involves drafting a document which is then signed by your bank or lender to confirm that they no longer have a claim over your property. This document is then registered with the Registers of Scotland.
For a basic discharge of mortgage security, the fee may be £150 plus VAT of £30.
The only outlay is a charge of £80 payable to the Registers of Scotland.
It is very encouraging to have had such excellent service and we will have no hesitation both in recommending you to other clients and using your services in the future should the need arise.
